Russia is ready, if necessary, to provide advisory assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan in the process of border delimitation and demarcation, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov said.<\/p>\n
“We support the ongoing process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We believe that it should be stable, balanced and mutually acceptable,” the diplomat noted.<\/p>\n
He also said that the Russian side welcomes the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku, including the talks between the two countries’ foreign ministers on a peace treaty in Almaty on May 10–11.<\/p>\n
“This is another step toward sustainable peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” the ambassador noted.<\/p>\n
Regarding the prospects of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Evdokimov stated that it will depend on the political will of Yerevan and Baku.<\/p>\n
