Gaza has become a “graveyard” for children with thousands
\nnow killed under Israeli bombardment, while more than a million face dire
\nshortages of essentials and a lifetime of trauma ahead. UN Children’s Fund
\n(UNICEF) spokesperson James Elder said this at a press briefing in Geneva.

As Elder states, more than 3,450 children have been killed
\nin Gaza according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. He called for an immediate
\nhumanitarian ceasefire and opening of all access points for sustained entry of
\nhumanitarian aid.
<\/p><\/p>\n\n
“If we had a ceasefire for 72 hours, this would mean a
\nthousand children would be safe again for this time,” the UNICEF spokesperson said.
\nInfant deaths due to dehydration are “a growing threat” in the enclave as Gaza’s
\nwater production is at five per cent of the required volume due to
\nnon-functioning desalination plants which are either damaged or lack fuel.
