Court hearing on RPA Vice President Armen Ashotyan’s case is
\nbeing held in the RA Anti-Corruption Court. Ashotyan’s supporters have gathered
\noutside the court building. As former NA MP Naira Zohrabyan said, there is no
\nEuropean organization that does not accept that Armen Ashotyan is a political
\nprisoner. <\/p>\n

“Judges, there is a huge stigma attached to you: You hold
\npeople in custody by violating the Criminal code and the code of legal ethics.
\nThis is nothing but torment and a violation of the Geneva Conventions. The day
\nwill come when you will be held responsible for all of this,” Zohrabyan
\nsaid. <\/p>\n
<\/p><\/p>\n
“How can authorities, having over 15 political prisoners,
\nbeating opposition MPs in the National Assembly, using violence against
\npeaceful demonstrators and trumping up criminal charges, be called democratic?”
\nRPA member Eduard Sharmazanov said.<\/p>\n

To remind, Armen Ashotyan is accused of abusing his
\nauthority and of money laundering.<\/p>\n
