The permanent representatives of the European Union (EU) have agreed on the 14th package of sanctions against Russia, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU said in an X post on June 20.<\/p>\n
“EU Ambassadors just agreed on a powerful and substantial 14th package of sanctions in reaction to the Russian aggression against Ukraine,” reads the post.<\/p>\n
As noted, the package provides new targeted measures and maximizes the impact of existing sanctions by closing loopholes.<\/p>\n
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen disclosed the details regarding the new restrictions. She wrote on X that the new package of sanctions will be “hard-hitting” and will affect energy, technology and banking services.<\/p>\n
