Raya Nazaryan, an Armenian by origin, has been elected chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria by 131 votes to 66, with 39 abstentions, the Bulgarian News Agency reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Parliament, regardless of the level of public trust, is the only platform entitled to legitimize executive and legislative authorities,” Nazaryan said after being elected.<\/span><\/p>\n

She noted that the deputies can count on her in terms of dialogue, justice, equality and unconditional adherence to the charter, laws and regulations of the National Assembly.<\/span><\/p>\n
