The FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament 2023 kicks off on Oct. 25 in
\nthe Isle of Man.

Hayk Martirosyan, Gabriel Sargissian, Hrant Melkumyan, Shant
\nSargsyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Manuel Petrosyan are representing Armenia in
\nthe men’s tournament. Elina Danielyan and Mariam Mkrtchyan are taking part in
\nthe women’s tournament.

The players who finish in first and second places in each
\ntournament will qualify for the World Chess Championship 2024.

The former leader of the Armenian national team, now
\nrepresenting the U.S., Levon Aronian is also playing. Aronian is ranked seventh
\namong the 114 players and is one of the favorites to win.
