As a mediator, Russia is ready to continue working toward
\nthe unblocking of railway links between Armenia and Russia. Russian Deputy
\nPrime Minister Alexey Overchuk said this to the press in Yerevan.<\/p>\n

“It is important to understand that the unblocking of
\ntransport links in the South Caucasus region is being carried out in accordance
\nwith the tripartite statement signed by the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian
\nleaders. To this end, a working group has been set up under the chairmanship of
\ndeputy prime ministers. This working group representatives have met, documents
\nhave been drawn up. First, we are talking about the unblocking of railway
\nlinks. We are ready to continue to work,” he noted, adding that Russia acts as
\na mediator, and if the parties are ready to continue working in this direction,
\nwe are also ready to take part.<\/p>\n

“What is positive is that Armenia and Azerbaijan are
\nstarting to work directly with each other. This is probably the most
\nsignificant achievement,” Overchuk said.
