The research was carried out by a group of scientists from the U.S. and Italy. The analysis of data collected by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) shows that the Mare Tranquillitatis, the deepest known skylight on the Moon, leads to a cave about 45 meters wide and about 77 meters long. The cave is located approximately 150 meters below the surface.<\/p>\n
