The office of Nicolás Maduro, a Venezuelan presidential candidate and the country’s incumbent president, announced his victory in the elections, RIA Novosti writes.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are thankful to all of you. We cannot announce the result, but we can show our faces. This was a victory for everyone. This was a victory that will help us build a future,” Jorge Rodríguez, the former chief of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council and now the president of the country’s National Assembly, said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rodríguez called on everyone to wait for the official figures of the National Electoral Council (CNE), “because we respect the law and Constitution of our country”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presidential election in Venezuela took place on Sunday, July 28.
