Baku made another cunning move, due to which COP29 will be held in Azerbaijan this year. After the 2020 war, Aliyev set a condition for Armenia: It will return a part of the captives, in exchange for which Armenia should not submit a bid to host COP29. Yerevan had much better chances to host COP29 than Baku. The present authorities took the bait. Aliyev’s next trick was to invite Armenia to the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n
