An aide to the Kremlin has claimed that NATO and the West were directly involved in the planning for Ukraine’s attack on Russia’s Kursk region, the BBC<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Izvestia newspaper, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev noted that U.S. statements saying they were not involved were “not true”, Reuters news agency reports․<\/p>\n

The White House says Ukraine did not provide advance notice of its incursion and that Washington had no involvement<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Ukraine has set up a military office inside Russia, which it says will “meet the immediate needs” of the population in the area.<\/p>\n
