ICRC teams are visiting different settlements in Artsakh to
\nprovide assistance to the people left behind after the displacement of the
\npopulation.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“Few people remain there in their homes, either of their own
\naccord or because they were unable to leave on their own. Some are in need of
\nmedical assistance or food and water supplies. Others ask to help them contact
\ntheir family members or to provide them with means of transport to leave,” the
\nICRC notes.
<\/p><\/p>\n
The teams maintain contact with the few residents who remain
\nin their homes. In the meantime, new people are being found.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“A man approached the ICRC team. He lives with his
\n92-year-old father in a rather remote mountainous village. He did not know that
\nso many people had left the region; he had not watched TV or listened to radio
\nbecause of power outages persisting for weeks,” the ICRC said.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“When people were fleeing, I could not leave with my dad, as
\nhe is a fairly old man. Thank God you came here, and we got some information
\nabout the current state of affairs,” the man said.
