How can we talk about democracy, when 150,000 people have
\nbeen expelled from Artsakh? Third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said this
\nto the press outside the court.

“If this is what we call democracy, then this democracy is
\nutterly pointless. How can we talk about democracy, when there are over 20
\npolitical prisoners in Armenia?” he said.
<\/p><\/p>\n
Referring to the accusations that it was the former
\npresidents and newly-elected president Samvel Shahramanyan, who ceded Artsakh,
\nSerzh Sargsyan said: “No matter what they say, the whole world knows who ceded
\nArtsakh and how they did it. They can make any attempt, but these attempts are
\nnot always successful. What do the former presidents have to do with the cession of Artsakh? Or
\nwhat should the newly-elected president have done? And after all, was Artsakh
\nable to confront Azerbaijan with its already small armed forces? Of course,
\nnot. Thus, what was it that they wanted? Was it that the people of Artsakh had
\nfought to the last men, and the women and children had been taken captive? Is
\nit what they wanted?

Referring to his remarks that Artsakh will never be part of
\nAzerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan said,” I will repeat it again that the chapter of
\nArtsakh has not closed for me.
<\/p><\/p>\n
The third president did not rule out the possibility of
\nArtsakh being Armenian if the dealmaker is changed.
<\/p><\/p>\n
With regard to the negotiations on the Artsakh issue, he
\nnoted that it was Azerbaijan that rejected all the proposals brought forward by
\nthe co-chairs, including the one suggesting concessions.

“It was not only Azerbaijan, but also the RA authorities and
\nthe former leadership of Artsakh that were fighting against the process of
\nArtsakh’s self-determination,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
