In connection with the incident that took place in the Parliament on March 31, 2023, the criminal court of the city of Yerevan announced a verdict regarding Opposition MP Mher Sahakyan, lawyer Ruben Melikyan said.<\/p>\n
“The court decided:<\/p>\n
1) to acquit Sahakyan on a hooliganism charge (Part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code);<\/p>\n
2) to reclassify the article of causing slight harm to health with an aggravating circumstance (Part 2 of Article 171 of the Code of Criminal Procedure) to the article of causing slight harm without aggravating circumstances (Part 1 of the same article), and to hold Sahakyan guilty.<\/p>\n
Additional court hearings are scheduled for Oct. 1,” Melikyan noted.<\/p>\n
