Russia detects NATO attempts to advance its interests in the
\nSouth Caucasus through Armenia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said
\nthis to the press in Bishkek.

He stated that the growth of anti-Russian sentiments in
\nArmenia is sometimes promoted intentionally.
<\/p><\/p>\n
“We know that in recent years many NGOs have opened in
\nArmenia. In fact, they were not few in number earlier. The aim of these
\norganizations is not to foster friendly relations between Armenia and Russia.
\nOn the contrary, they are aimed at paving the way for anti-Russian sentiments
\nand the promotion of the U.S., EU and NATO interests in the region through
\nArmenia,” Lavrov said.

According to him, in some cases these attempts succeed.
\nHowever, Russia is sure that the majority of the Armenian nation is interested
\nin the strengthening of the traditional fraternal ties with Russia.

With reference to Pashinyan’s latest statement that Armenia
\nhas not changed its political line, Lavrov voiced hope that this position will
\nprevail despite the attempts to bring Armenia into another line.
