The EU Civil protection Mechanism is organizing a media trip for journalists to Armenia, which will take place from Nov. 4 to 7.<\/p>\n
As mentioned in the statement, a year ago the military attack in Artsakh forced almost the entire population of Artsakh Armenians to leave their homes. As a result, more than 100,000 people arrived in Armenia. Those newly displaced faced various challenges as they had to start their lives anew. A year later, many still rely on humanitarian aid to meet their basic needs.<\/p>\n
“The European Union is one of the key humanitarian donors in Armenia. In response to the September 2023 escalation, the EU provided over €12 million in humanitarian aid, with an additional €5.5 million allocated in 2024 to strengthen operations in Armenia. This funding supports displaced and vulnerable people by ensuring access to basic needs, health care, shelter, food, and protection,” reads the statement.<\/p>\n
