25 years after Oct. 27, criminal case reopened: What do we have 25 years later?
Six years ago, KP promised to solve the cases of October 27 and March 1. If in the case of March 1 they tried to detain people or send them to prison, in the case of October 27, the cart did not move. Only today, on the 25th anniversary of the terror attack, Armenia’s Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement where it presented what actions were taken in the case of October 27.
In 2019, the General Prosecutor’s Office reopened the criminal case dismissed in 2004, based on the complaint to the prosecutor brought by victim Anahit Bakhshyan and her legal representative. Anahit Bakhshyan is the wife of Yuri Bakhshyan, who died in the terror attack. During the resumed investigation, Nairi Hunanyan, who is sentenced to life imprisonment, was interrogated about the circumstances of the incident. Members of the terrorist group, convicts Karen Hunanyan, Derenik Bejanyan and Ashot Knyazyan, who died in August of this year, were also questioned during the investigation. Before Knyazyan’s death, three more terrorists sentenced to life imprisonment in this case died earlier in prison. Details in the video:
