Ararat Mirzoyan: We are discussing the possibility of withdrawing troops from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Yerevan and Baku are discussing the possibility of
withdrawing troops from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Armenian Foreign
Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this in a press briefing with Estonian Foreign
Minister Margus Tsahkna.

“We have proposed withdrawing troops from the
Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and we believe that this will help avert potential
escalations. I would not say that we have agreed on this, but it is now being
discussed,” he said.

Mirzoyan noted there has been no news of the exchange of
prisoners. “There were two components: the exchange of prisoners and the U.N.
Climate Change Conference, which officially closed yesterday. Now, we can
already wait for the implementation of the second component. We have no reason
to say that the Azerbaijani side may go back on the agreement,” he said.
