Boat carrying Marine Le Pen collides with another

Two boats, one of which was carrying Marine Le Pen, parliamentary party leader of France’s right-wing National Rally party, collided near the shores of France’s overseas department of Mayotte, BFMTV reports.

As noted, during the collision, most people on board lost their balance and fell.

Three individuals sustained minor injuries and were taken away by police boats. Le Pen herself was unharmed and was also evacuated by a police boat, media clarifies, citing her entourage.

The boat was heading toward the island, where the local airport is located. According to the TV channel, Le Pen arrived at the airport as planned. On Sunday, she had arrived in Mayotte, which has been heavily affected in the aftermath of Cyclone Chido.
