Erdoğan and Aliyev discuss regional issues

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Jan. 8, the Azerbaijani media reports.

During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as regional and global issues.

Erdoğan noted that cooperation between the countries will develop in all areas based on the principle of “One Nation, Two States.” He also stated that Turkey fully supports the idea of achieving sustainable peace in the South Caucasus region and will always stand by Azerbaijan.
