Death toll in California fires rises to 11
The death toll from the wildfires in California has reached 11, U.S. media reports.
“Five individuals have died in the area affected by the fire known as Palisades Fire, while six others lost their lives in the region impacted by the Eaton Fire,” media reports say.
The fires, which erupted on Jan. 7, have been raging across more than 15,200 hectares of land.
The two largest fires, Eaton and Palisades, are currently contained only by 3% and 8%, respectively.
