German chancellor welcomes Trump’s plans to meet with Putin

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has welcomed the willingness of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with ARD TV channel, Scholz noted that this is not bad news.

At the same time, the German chancellor stressed the importance of not questioning Ukraine’s sovereignty. He expressed confidence that the time for real discussions on resolving the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv will come at some point.

“We must find a way to resolve military actions so that Ukraine will not be forced into a ‘dictated peace,'” the politician stated.
