Putin: The Russian peacekeepers are doing their best to protect the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Russian
peacekeepers are doing their best to protect the civilian population of
Artsakh.

Putin referred to the Azerbaijani military aggression
against Artsakh for the first time.

“We are constantly in contact with the authorities of
Yerevan, with Stepanakert and Baku. We hope that we will be able to achieve
de-escalation and that a peaceful solution will be reached,” Putin said.

Earlier, Spokesperson for the Russian president Dmitry
Peskov had stated that Moscow hoped to organize a telephone conversation
between Putin and Pashinyan in a short time.
