Torrential rains, floods, and landslides: A new disaster hits Los Angeles

In the County of Los Angeles, U.S., where fires raged in January, heavy rains have caused flooding and landslides, the New York Post reports.

Citing social media reports, the publication states that floodwaters in some parts of Los Angeles have reached 120 centimeters (about four feet), turning roads into rivers and tearing roofs off houses. Part of the Pacific coast has been filled with rocks.

The damage has been recorded in downtown Los Angeles, as well as in Malibu, the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, Westside, Altadena, East Los Angeles, Southeast Los Angeles, Whittier, and some areas of the San Gabriel Mountains.
