The phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump was a discussion between two polite people that has surprised many Western leaders, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.

“Many in the West, starting with EU leaders, were astonished when a normal conversation took place between two well-mannered and polite individuals—people who do not forget their disagreements, which are many, but who completely understand that politics is about sitting down, talking, and finding common ground,” Lavrov said.
