Erdoğan: Turkey supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity
This war must end; Turkey supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Turkey is an ideal place for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine,” Erdoğan said.
He stated that U.S. President Donald Trump’s diplomatic initiative regarding Ukraine aligns with Ankara’s official policy toward the country over the past three years.
“Mr. Trump has initiated a negotiation process. This approach is in line with the policy that Turkey has been pursuing over the past three years. The negotiations in Istanbul served as a starting point for areas where the sides are closest to reaching an agreement,” Erdoğan noted.
Zelenskyy stated that he had canceled his visit to Saudi Arabia.
“I have canceled my trip to Saudi Arabia; I will not go there. I have postponed my visit to March 10. Ukraine was not invited to the Russian-American negotiations in Riyadh; that meeting came as a surprise for Kyiv,” Zelenskyy said.
