Putin: Some wish to return to the times of Napoleon’s invasion, forgetting how it ended

Russia’s opponents wish to return to the times of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’s invasion of Russia but forget how that story ended. Russian President Vladimir Putin made these comments during a meeting with employees and caregivers of the Defenders of Fatherland Fund, TASS writes.

“Some still cannot sit quietly; there are still people who want to return to the times of Napoleon, forgetting what that ended in,” Putin said.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron had made several strong statements regarding Russia, specifically stating that Russia poses a threat to France and Europe.
