Trump signs order to cut US Agency for Global Media staff

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to reduce the staff numbers of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Voice of America.

Michael Abramowitz, Director of Voice of America, stated that nearly his entire staff—1,300 journalists, producers, and assistants—has been placed on administrative leave, crippling the media broadcaster that operates in almost 50 languages.
