Arman Tatoyan: In Armenia, local elections have become a struggle for the Armenian statehood
The results of yesterday’s voting in Gyumri and Parakar showed the true attitude of the Armenian people toward the political power in the country, Arman Tatoyan writes.
“It has become evident that the local elections in Armenia are not merely communal; they have turned into a battle for the preservation of Armenian statehood and the value system of the Armenian people.
A clear example is the defamation of Artsakh during the campaign for the Gyumri city council elections, undermining the sacred struggle and heroism of our boys by the Civil Contract party candidate and the party’s entire leadership. Thanks to the worthy response of our citizens, this disgraceful mindset was not accepted.
As I have said, the power of the Civil Contract leader feeds on division and hatred among people both within Armenia and in the Diaspora, creating chaos.
Insulting, verbally abusing people, and doing so in an arrogant and public manner are among their main weapons.
The solidarity of the Armenian people, the preservation of our sacred values, respecting each other’s dignity and rights, and not losing our identity are remedies against all of this,” Tatoyan wrote.
