Peskov: Peace in Ukraine is possible after the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbass and new Russian territories
The withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces from Donbass and the new Russian territories is a necessary prerequisite for achieving peace in Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Le Point.
“If Ukraine withdraws its troops from those four regions, then yes,” Peskov said in response to journalist Anne Nivat’s question about whether the war would end under this condition.
Peskov noted that these regions are enshrined in Russia’s Constitution as inseparable parts of the country. He also stated that, at present, some parts of these regions are still occupied by the Kyiv regime.
“According to the results of the referendums, these territories have been incorporated into the administrative boundaries of Russia. From our point of view, this is both de jure and de facto reality,” Peskov stated.
