Red Cross delegates visit 3 students abducted from checkpoint
ICRC delegates have visited the three Armenian students
abducted from the checkpoint over the Hakari bridge. ICRC Communication and
Prevention Programs Manager Zara Amatuni said this to ABC Media.
The visits were paid on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31.
The representative of ICRC Armenian office did not provide
details on the boys’ state of health on the grounds that it is confidential
information.
The ICRC has no information about the boys’ promised return
in 10 days, either; it is not within their powers. If the sides agree on this,
they will arrange the return.
“The International Committee of the Red Cross has no right
to negotiate the return of arrested persons with the sides,” Amatuni said.
