Trump halts Harvard University’s foreign student admission program

The Trump administration has suspended Harvard University’s foreign student admission program.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced that a letter has been sent to Harvard University informing them of the decision.

“I want to inform you that as of today, the certificate for Harvard’s student exchange program has been revoked,” the minister stated in an X post.

She noted that the Trump administration considers Harvard responsible for promoting violence and anti-Semitism on its campus, as well as for coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party.

“Harvard had many opportunities to do the right thing, but they decided not to. For failing to comply with the law, the university has lost its certificates for the student exchange program,” Noem added.

To remind, the Trump administration decided to freeze $2.2 billion in funding and a $60 million contract awarded to Harvard. The university filed a lawsuit to halt the decision, claiming that the federal government was unlawfully freezing its funds.
