Armenian boxers Hayk Alaberkyan and Ruslan Aslikyan won the
first medals in the University International Sports Festival. The sports
festival is held from Aug. 19 to Aug. 31 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, the RA
MoESCS reports.
Hayk Alaberkyan, won a gold medal in the men’s 51 kg final,
beating Azerbaijan’s representative 5:0. Ruslan Aslikyan, notched up a
convincing win as well. He beat the representative of Venezuela in the men’s 57
kg final.
The student athletes of the Armenian State Institute of
Physical Culture and Sport are competing in seven sports, namely boxing,
freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, judo, table tennis and swimming.
