Russian Foreign Ministry: We welcome the agreement between Baku and Yerevan

Moscow welcomes the joint statement issued by the office of
the Azerbaijani president and the office of the Armenian prime minister,
proving their mutual intention to normalize relations and conclude a peace
treaty. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this.

“We welcome the agreement between Baku and Yerevan on the
release of Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers. Russia has consistently promoted
the idea of exchanging detainees on the “all for all” principle. This
contributes to the development of mutual trust and opens up new opportunities
to promote the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and
Azerbaijan, being in line with the 2020-2022 tripartite agreements between the
Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders. We are ready to keep providing
possible support in the unblocking of transport links, border demarcation,
conclusion of a peace treaty and development of relations through civil
societies,” Zakharova said.
