
Musk unveils Microsoft rival—Macrohard
Elon Musk’s company xAI has filed to register the trademark Macrohard, which will focus on AI–based software, Musk said in an X post.
The project is being developed to compete with traditional software giants such as Microsoft. Macrohard will specialize in AI-driven programs and cloud services, creating AI agents designed to replicate human thinking and generate speech and text.
The trademark application was submitted in the U.S. on Aug․ 1, 2025. xAI was founded on July 12, 2023, and according to Musk, the company’s main goal is to understand the true nature of the universe. Its core engineering team is composed of specialists from leading tech firms including OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and Twitter.
Musk’s other companies have previously launched legal actions against Apple and OpenAI, underscoring his active role in the tech industry and his drive to secure new positions in the competitive landscape.
