Common cancers in Armenia

According to Arevik Stepanyan, head of the Cancer Registry
Department at the National Center of Oncology, cancer is in second place after
cardiovascular diseases in the world, and the numbers keep growing. Moreover,
there has been an increased incidence of the disease among young people.

Some types of cancer show a wider spread. The most common
cancers in the world are those of lung and breast. Another type that is widely
spread in Armenia is thyroid cancer. In general, thyroid disorders are quite
common in Armenia.
