The next Armenian who is declared persona non grata and is refused
entry into her homeland is Areni Markosyan. Yesterday, it became known that she
was kept waiting for hours at the airport and was refused entry into the
country.
Areni Markosyan took part in almost every demonstration held
by the Armenian community of the East Coast of the U.S.. One of the latest
demonstrations was staged against Azerbaijan, calling for the end of the
blockade of Artsakh.
NA MP Kristine Vardanyan told ABC Media that the
demonstrations in which the young ARF member took part, were aimed at the
protection of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and at
the protection of Armenian interests.
“She took part in both massive demonstrations and in
numerous protest actions staged by the AYF (Armenian Youth Federation). The
demonstrations were also about the unblocking of the Lachin corridor, the right
of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and the policy adopted by the
Armenian authorities,” Kristine Vardanyan said.
