It only exacerbated the situation: Zakharova on Vagif Khachatryan’s arrest (video)

At the weekly briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry
Spokesperson Maria Zakharova referred to Artsakh resident Vagif Khachatryan’s
arrest by Azerbaijan.

“There is no doubt that this incident is a hindrance on
our way to find difficult but at the same time necessary settlements,
compromises and solutions to the existing issues. It only exacerbates the
situation. Secondly, we heard totally opposing views from the Armenian and
Azerbaijani sides. Next, our top priority is the reconciliation both in terms
of the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and in terms of the protection
of rights and security of the population of Karabakh,” Russian Foreign
Ministry Spokesperson noted.

As we reported earlier, a 68-year-old citizen of the
Republic of Artsakh was detained by Azerbaijan at the checkpoint and was taken
to Baku. He was one of the patients who were being transferred to RA hospitals
to undergo treatment.
