Artsakh left alone: Hidden messages of Pashinyan’s press conference
Nikol Pashinyan’s press conference, which lasted more than
five hours this time, was very much like the previous ones in nature. In the
first half of the meeting, the head of the country was fairly calm. However,
when one of the journalists asked him why his wife had published a photo of a
basket full of vegetables, when literally Artsakh is suffering famine, he got
upset.
According to him, people in Artsakh didn’t need fuel to grow
okra or tomatoes. However, he perhaps didn’t take into account the very fact
that his garden is in the center of Yerevan and is not under enemy fire. As for
fuel, people need it so that they can transport food to Stepanakert.
Pashinyan implied that, besides growing vegetables, people
in Artsakh had better ensure security along their own borders and not pin their
hopes on the Republic of Armenia.
