Nationwide uprising in Artsakh

Nationwide uprising actions started this morning in
Stepanakert’s Revival Square. Artsakh Minister of State Gurgen Nersisyan
announced about the actions last night.

Today, during the rally, the Artsakh state minister
confirmed that the movement will last indefinitely.

The rally started with Father Nerses Asryan’s speech.

“We will never have another Artsakh, nothing can replace our
homeland, just like tomorrow nothing can replace Syunik, Tavush, Gegharkunik,
Yerevan and Armenia… They want to eliminate us as a race,” he said.

Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan also gave a
speech. Addressing the international community, Gegham Stepanyan emphasized
that it is one thing to talk about human rights, and another thing to put them
into practice.

“While you are merely expressing concerns, 120,000 people in
Artsakh are being subjected to inhumane deprivation,” Stepanyan said.

State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan, addressing the people of
Artsakh, stressed: “We have no Artsakh we could give up or leave. Living in
Artsakh is not a right, but a duty. This is written and unwritten law, this is
an oath and a responsibility.”

The state minister of also said that they had high hopes
that the international community, the Russian Federation and the Republic of
Armenia would take steps to resolve the situation, but it turned out that everyone
acted as mere observers.

At Nersisyan’s call, the participants of the movement
marched to the Stepanakert office of the International Committee of the Red
Cross, where they demanded that the international organizations provide the
objective reality about the situation in Artsakh.
