Iranian MP: The grain deal will not affect Tehran
The situation over the grain deal will not affect Iran’s
wheat market, Iranian MP Zabihollah Azami-Sardooei told RIA Novosti.
According to him, in case of a grain deficit, Tehran will
buy the necessary supplies from Moscow and EAEU member states.
“The extension or non-extension of the grain deal between
Russia and Ukraine will not impact Iran’s wheat market, as we are close to the
level of full self-sufficiency in wheat production. Grain production rates are
very good. Therefore, the amount we need may not exceed 2 million tons,” the
Iranian official said.
