ICJ upholds decision obliging Azerbaijan to ensure uninterrupted movement along Lachin corridor
On July 6, 2023, the International Court of Justice made a decision regarding Armenia’s request to revisit its Feb. 22, 2023 decision for interim measure, concerning the Application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Armenia v. Azerbaijan). The reason for the request was the installation of a checkpoint by Azerbaijan in the Lachin corridor, Office of RA representative on international legal matters reports.
The Court upheld its Feb. 22, 2023 decision, obliging Azerbaijan to take all measures to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people, transport means and cargo along the Lachin corridor in both directions. The Court concluded that there is no need to revisit its Feb. 22, 2023 decision at the moment.
