Bayramov discusses Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process with European officials

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas on the sidelines of the 32nd session of the OSCE Ministerial in Vienna.

The sides discussed regional security issues, post-conflict realities in the South Caucasus, as well as recent developments and expectations within the peace agenda.

Bayramov also held talks with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu. The discussion focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, current challenges facing the organization, regional and international security issues, the situation in the region, and the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

It was emphasized that at a time when security in Europe faces serious challenges, it is essential to uphold international law unconditionally, particularly the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders.

Bayramov briefed Sinirlioğlu on the situation and new realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the outcomes of the Washington Summit, and Azerbaijan’s expectations from the peace process.

The importance of dissolving the Minsk Process and its related structures was highlighted as a step toward enhancing OSCE effectiveness and aligning its activities with current regional realities.

In addition, the Azerbaijani foreign minister met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Šekerinska. Bayramov informed her about the agreements reached at the Washington Summit, peace prospects, and plans related to transport corridors in the region.
