Azerbaijan’s PM says ‘Zangezur Corridor’ to play key role as new transit route, within both East-West and North-South corridors
Azerbaijani PM Ali Asadov has said that the agreements signed during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s historic visit to the U.S. on Aug. 8 — including the accord on unhindered transport connections between Azerbaijan’s mainland and Nakhijevan — will contribute to regional stability, facilitate international freight transit, and support economic development.
Asadov made the remarks during a parliamentary session discussing the draft law on the State Budget of Azerbaijan for 2026.
He added that the success achieved during this period help maintain economic stability, attract new investments, and further strengthen Azerbaijan’s role and position on the international stage.
According to Asadov, in the near future, the “Zangezur Corridor” will play a crucial role as a new transport route within both the East-West and North-South corridors.
