Aliyev skips EAEU meeting: Here’s why?

The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration has announced that Ilham Aliyev did not take part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held on Dec. 21, as Azerbaijan is not a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Aliyev also did not attend the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), citing the president’s tight work schedule.

Yesterday Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin would hold a meeting with Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
