Cooperation among the CIS countries developed successfully in 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the informal summit of CIS heads of state in Saint Petersburg.
“Trade turnover among CIS countries reached $90 billion in 2025,” the Russian president said.
Earlier, it was reported that Putin would hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Saint Petersburg.
Ilham Aliyev did not attend the CIS informal summit, citing the “president’s tight work schedule.” In response, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin understands Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev’s decision to cancel his visit to Saint Petersburg.
