Ali Asadov says ‘Zangezur Corridor’ construction continues at accelerated pace in Azerbaijan
Construction of the “Zangezur Corridor” is continuing at an accelerated pace in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani media report. This was announced by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the 12th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Asadov noted that in the initial phase, this railway — with a cargo capacity of 15 million tons — will become the main backbone of the Middle Corridor.
“It is worth noting with pleasure that the cornerstone of the Kars–Nakhijevan railway was laid in August. This railway is part of the ‘Zangezur Corridor.’ The route will serve not only Azerbaijan and Turkey but also other countries,” Asadov said.
