
Deputy foreign minister and Iran’s ambassador discuss regional issues
On Dec. 24, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, in connection with the presentation of a copy of his credentials, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
“The deputy minister congratulated the ambassador on assuming his mission and expressed confidence that he will contribute to the further strengthening and deepening of Armenia–Iran relations.
During the discussion following the presentation of the copy of credentials, the parties emphasized the strategic nature of the dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the atmosphere of mutual trust that has been established, and their mutual readiness to continue multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly within the framework of infrastructure projects.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on a number of regional and international agenda issues,” the statement said.
