
Bulgaria switches to euro, becoming eurozone’s 21st member
Bulgaria has adopted the euro as of today, becoming the 21st member of the eurozone, Euronews writes.
This means the country abandons its national currency, the Bulgarian lev.
The Balkan country, with a population of 6.5 million, joined the EU in 2007 and began the process of joining the single currency area in 2018.
