Schools closed in Aleppo today

All public institutions in Aleppo are closed today, Jan. 7, the local Armenian newspaper Gandzasar reports.

According to the publication, the Aleppo governorate has issued a statement saying that all public and private schools and universities, as well as government institutions, will be closed on Jan. 7.

“For public safety reasons, all types of gatherings have also been canceled,” the newspaper reported.

Clashes have been taking place since yesterday in several districts of Aleppo, including predominantly Armenian neighborhoods.
